Caley & Sean { Engagement }

Caley & Sean were a fun loving and very easy couple to photograph. We met on a rainy cold day at Goldstream Park, Victoria, BC, for the engagement shoot and I thought it would be difficult because of the rain, but I was wrong! Caley & Sean were open to everything and didn't complain once about the unlucky weather, plus, since it was raining there was hardly anyone else there to avoid! Perfect!

Im so excited to be a part of their wedding and can't wait until next September, congrats guys!

Chantal & Temperance { Wedding }

Chantal & Temperance were married last weekend at Chantal's Sister's beautiful property in Duncan, BC, during an afternoon ceremony. The weather was perfect; warm and sunny, and the set up was shaded by vibrant green trees. Beautiful details and accents lined the property and were scattered throughout the backyard. Incense were burned and tiki torches were lit to set the mood for the evening. The ceremony was absolutely stunning, and the vows were so beautiful I nearly teared up, despite knowing them only an hour. The ceremony was based on Wiccan beliefs, and a Celtic Hand Fasting ritual was performed to sybolize the binding of the couple. Multiple coloured ribbons were placed over the couples fastened hands to symbolize various blessings and promises, then finally all of the ribbons were tied together to form the binding. Candles were lit to represent the North, South, East & West and their corresponding natural Elements - Earth, Wind, Air and Fire. Though not traditional to Wiccan belief, Chantal & Temperance also exchanged beautiful Native art rings to symbolize their union. They had a bed set up outside to sleep in after the day, it was surrounded by netting and beautiful colour.

Melissa & John { Wedding }

Melissa & John tied the knot last Saturday, Aug 20th, in beautiful Parksville, BC. The afternoon wedding was short and sweet and filled with lot's of love, friends and family.We arrived in Parksville at 9am after driving up from Victoria, BC.  I got to go meet the boys before the wedding while they were getting ready, and had the chance to see the hilarious sense of humour John and his friends have. John, a seemingly quiet guy, turned out to be full of surprises.

After making it to the Bayside Inn, Parksville, where the ceremony was held, the boys shared some pre-vow champagne in the parking lot and had some bonding time in the hotel room (see below). Both the groomsmen and bridesmaids looked clean and polished and the day went on without a glitch. The reception was held at the Qualicum Community Hall, and was beautifully decorated with a unique guestbook where the guests filled out mini cards and hung them on some arranged branches (great idea!), and I loved the seating arrangement display...the names of the guests were written on a window mirror with each table having its own checker in the frame. The 2 MC's of the night kept the night filled with laughter with their mini skits and comedy routines and after just short of 12 hours of shooting, the night ended and I headed home....exhausted! Here are a few shots of the day:
