Baby Benjamin {Baby}

Introducing beautiful baby Benjamin. I went over to Christie & Dustin's house to meet her wonderful little man Ben and instantly fell in love. What an amazing little person! He has so much expression and is just the cutest with his big brown eyes and pouty lips. He does this frown face that could easily be mistaken for blue steel, lookout girls! We had some fun outdoors playing with the vibrant green grass and the daisies. I couldn't believe how Ben's sleep was undisturbed even when the recycling truck came by, rumbling engine and brakes squeeling, followed by braking glass and recyclables being tossed into the truck. Fire Painting

Painting with fire, one of my new favorite hobbies!!! I have beeen doing a lot of light painting lately with my photo a day challenge, but decided to up the intensity a bit by using open flame. I recently had a conversation with a photographer friend who suggested using steel wool to create light painted images. I didn't have any steel wool on me at the time so instead I decided to make my own fire wand. I took a steel wisk and tied it to a string. Inside I jammed a stainless steel scrubbing pad stuffed with cotton balls which I then soaked in rubbing alcohol (next time I will use white gas or something more flammable) then lit it on fire. I used the string to whip the flame round and create different patterns while I let my camera capture the movement. Here are a few of the shots, I can't wait to try this again!

Christie & Dustin {Maternity}

Better late than never! We now know that this beautiful belly contained little Ben born in February this year. Christie is one of the most awesome people I know, and such a wonderful friend to my sister. She married her love Dustin (equally awesome) and made a happy little family! I was so excited to hear that she was preggo and man did it ever suit her. She looked amazing! I just can't wan't wait to photograph her little bundle of joy, but for now here are some of the shots from a few months ago when little Ben was still in the oven.

Adam & Evelyn {Engaged}

Heres to the beautiful Evelyn and her fiance Adam who are engaged to be married this summer in Victoria, BC! This past weekend we headed downtown to get some portraits and engagement shots in preparation for their big day. The day was super sunny with a nice cool breeze. I brought my boyfriend David with me to assist with reflectors and flashes and we arrived extra early to scout out spots and set up. We walked down the breakwater and checked out the many scuba divers enjoying the temporary sun, watched as people cast their fishing lines into the ocean and were greeted multiple times by a rather plump seal. It was lovely to finally soak in some Vitamin D after a rather dreary start to Spring.

When Adam and & Evelyn arrived we got started right away on the breakwater, then headed to beacon hill park, a quick pit stop in fan tan alley and finished up over on finlayson. Here are a few of my favorites from the day!

Congrats again, can't wait for the Summer!
